Three Rejections Later: Why I’m Still Painting (and Crying a Little)

Rejection is tough, especially as an artist. This week, I had three rejections, and honestly, it stung. It’s easy to feel discouraged when you put your heart and soul into something, and it doesn’t land the way you hoped. But I'm reminding myself: every "no" is just a step toward the right "yes." (Two rejections from area art organizations and one from a bigger area show, just in case you might be wondering.)

It’s a hard journey, but the key is to keep going. Keep creating, keep learning, and keep pushing through the tough days. Every setback is just part of the process. Keep going, no matter how hard it gets!

So... after a few days of letting it get to me, I focused on the positive this month: receiving Hospitality Volunteer of the Year and Event of the Year from Visit Greene. I'm starting this weekend with some hope, making plans, working on some art for an upcoming event, and preparing to launch my Patreon!

A recently completed piece that I'm super proud of. Some new techniques but a subject I've done a few times. One of my favorite paintings I've done. Check out my instagram to see photos of it with blacklight on!
